Vale – Peter Quennell

It is with great sadness that I announce that Peter suffered a series of strokes over the Christmas period and passed away on Boxing Day.

Peter was co-founder of the Gippsland Vehicle Collection in Maffra, Victoria, and subsequently instrumental in the formation of our association AMMA.

Peter took on the secretariat of AMMA in 2008 and retired in 2020 owing to ill health. He will be sadly missed by fellow board members, and the historic vehicle network in general. I had the pleasure of Pete’s company on many association functions, including a trip to New Zealand where we enjoyed each other’s friendship and sense of humour.

Peter is survived by his three daughters and his partner Sue Lawrence.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held in Maffra on January 8th at 10.30 am beginning with a cavalcade starting at the GVC museum and gathering at the Maffra Recreational Reserve.

May Peter rest in peace.
